Few political figures have been quite so polarizing as Donald Trump. Try as hard as they can, but the left still hasn’t managed to slow down his momentum. And a large part of that momentum rests on the shoulders of the proud 2nd Amendment supporters who have backed him from day one.

So it’s no surprise that his most recent comments have been taken out of context by the left and spun into something that simply isn’t true. Let’s look at the comment specifically:

“ Hillary wants to abolish — essentially abolish — the 2nd Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the 2nd Amendment people —maybe there is, I don’t know. But — but I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day. If, if Hillary gets to put her judges — right now we’re tied. You see what’s going on. We’re tied ’cause Scalia — this was not supposed to happen.”

Immediately, the left-wing media latched onto this and twisted it into Trump supposedly signaling to ‘those 2nd Amendment people’ that they should head out and commit horrible acts of violence.

The truth is much simpler – and much more in line with what he’s been saying from day one –that the power of patriots who believe in the Second Amendment coming together and voting is what he meant. The key thing here is simple – unification behind a belief that this nation was founded on. Thanks to Trump, Second Amendment supporters will be voting in record numbers this year. And that is what he meant with his comments, nothing more.

So what does this mean to you? If you’re like most of us, very little. Trump remains the one candidate who believes in the Second Amendment, and no amount of left-wing spin can change that.
